This past month we reported how the REWA Ultra Mega Solar Park has been developed to attract the best bids and also how the reverse auction results for this 750 MW plant have broken the Rs. 3 barrier. But this story has many more facets that need to be spoken about such as the Rs. 300 crore+ reduction in DMRC’s electricity bill. We have pulled together this info-graphic that illustrates just how ground breaking this story is in the history of solar power.
While navigating my way through Delhi, I was pleasantly surprised to see solar plants making frequent appearance on Google Maps. The geek in me is excited to share this with you! Come take a tour of some of Sunkalp Energy’s Solar Plants on Google Maps along with some more beautiful solar plants installed by other companies.
Dilliwaalas, see anything you recognize? If you have more such images, share them with us at email@example.com and we would love to add them to this feature.
Now that the summers are here, we will see monkey families come out of their hiding. So much so, that humans have to go into hiding anticipating Monkeys’ rowdy behaviour. In this age of urbanisation, monkeys have little forest space to go and live peacefully leading them to be almost a part of our society. But, not so much a peaceful part. Everyone is scared of monkeys entering their houses and eating food, tearing or wearing our clothes to avoid which we must keep our doors and windows locked. (more…)
Everything has taken on a golden hue, the bougainvillea in Delhi seem to be on steroids and the birds are extra cheerful. Welcome spring! And Happy Spring Equinox!
Today is also a day to celebrate technology and here’s why- As we all remember from high school geography lessons, the Sun is at its lowest path in the sky on the Winter Solstice. After that day it progressively follows a higher and higher path through the sky each day until it is in the sky for exactly 12 hours- the Spring Equinox. On this day the Sun also rises exactly in the east and sets exactly in the west.
More sun means more solar energy.
Andre Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard’s solar powered airplane (refer), the Solar Impulse 2, broke the world record for longest solo flight on 4th July 2015. This amazing feat of engineering and human perseverance takes us several step closer perpetual flight. The Solar Impulse 2 at 2,300 kg weighs about the same as a van- which makes us at Sunkalp Energy think about the possibility of cross country rides in solar powered cards- without having to stop for refueling.
