Solar Impulse 2 breaks records, understand it in Sunkalp’s Infographic

Andre Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard’s solar powered airplane (refer), the Solar Impulse 2, broke the world record for longest solo flight on 4th July 2015. This amazing feat of engineering and human perseverance takes us several step closer perpetual flight. The Solar Impulse 2 at 2,300 kg weighs about the same as a van- which makes us at Sunkalp Energy think about the possibility of cross country rides in solar powered cards- without having to stop for refueling. Solar energy to save Delhi from the power tariff hike

We have a 6% power hike in Delhi staring at us on our faces. The hike is 6% for BSES Yamuna Power Limited (East Delhi); 4% for BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. (West Delhi) and Tata Power. NDMC consumers have to bear a 5% hike (refer). DERC being pulled up by Apellate Tribunal of Electricity (APTEL) to include PPAC (power purchase adjustment charges) and increase power tariff for customers may have seemed unlikely a few weeks back (refer), owing to the promise of the new AAP government, but it is soon to be implemented. Sunkalp Energy attends MNRE Channel Partner Meeting

On Thursday, Sunkalp Energy attended a meeting organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for Channel Partners and New Entrepreneurs. The focus of the meeting was on grid connected roof-top solar power plants. As reinforced during RE-INVEST 2015, the Government of India has set a target of 100 GW for roof-top solar in India of which 40 GW or 40,000 MW is for grid connected roof-top solar, making the segment critical for India’s energy security and developmental goals.
