Andre Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard’s solar powered airplane (refer), the Solar Impulse 2, broke the world record for longest solo flight on 4th July 2015. This amazing feat of engineering and human perseverance takes us several¬†step closer perpetual flight. The Solar Impulse 2 at 2,300 kg weighs about the same as a van- which makes us at Sunkalp Energy think about the possibility of cross country rides in solar powered cards- without having to stop for refueling.
Check out our infographic about the tech specs of the Solar Impulse 2 below. The future is sunny indeed!
